I have Worked in the IT industry since 1986, as well as purely technical roles I
have obtained experience in team management, process development, procurement,
licensing, service desk strategies and procedures, as well as business process
re-engineering and major system implementations and support.
Since 1995 specialised as an Oracle database administrator (DBA) covering versions
7.x to 9.2.x, across a variety of Unix and Wintel platforms. Providing assistance
and support to packaged, custom and 3rd party systems developments. Experienced in
mission critical, OLAP, data warehouse and OLTP projects, extensive knowledge
of all system aspects such as architecture, security, profiling, auditing,
performance, change control and disaster recovery.
Always keen to maintain my understanding of new developments and methods in my
field I actively attend regular training
and Oracle User Group
(OUG) meetings
and conferences.
Additionally I have varying development skills in a selection of disciplines
including PL/SQL, SQL, PSP's, HTML, JavaScript, PHP and MySql.
